Investment Associations Join MAS’ Project Guardian to Advance Asset Tokenization
The Investment Association (IA) and the Investment Management Association of Singapore (IMAS) have become the first domestic trade groups and asset management-specific bodies to participate in Project Guardian. This MAS-led initiative explores blockchain's potential to enhance liquidity and efficiency in financial markets through tokenization.
Project Guardian unites global policymakers and financial institutions to develop industry frameworks for tokenized assets. By establishing standards and expanding tokenization across asset classes, the project aims to create a sustainable digital asset ecosystem that could broaden access to investment opportunities.
The UK's Financial Conduct Authority joins MAS in this cross-border collaboration, recognizing tokenization as a growth vector for investment management. "Blockchain transcends geographical boundaries," noted an IA representative, highlighting the technology's potential to reshape global finance.
